"First day at ____"

People usually have fond memories of ‘First day at College’, ‘First day at coaching class’ or any such place. As a school kid, whenever I saw any essay wherein description of first-day-at-so-and-so-place was required (obviously one among the other options), I would turn blind for that particular option. In this way, I got fewer options than others for writing essay. It further implies that I’ll have to blabber on some other topic which is not interesting either. (Oh! I’m getting diverted.)

To start with, every child has bad, rather crying ‘First day at school’. We all have laughed upon the pictures of that crying kid whose face has turned red because of forcibly being sent to the school.

My story is no different. Fortunately, my crying pictures are not taking rounds on the internet. As my dad was a teacher in the same school, in which I was supposed to study, my teachers were reportedly telling my father about me crying continuously.

Then came the time when I had to change my school. I went with my mom for the admission. (On that day, Weather Report: Sunny and Scorching sky).
We were outside the Principal’s office when we were informed that she had gone to take the round of school and would take half an hour or so. We waited for an hour and another hour passed as well in her wait and then she came back. My bad luck after waiting for so long, what I heard next was that I was short of some required documents for which I had to go back. By this moment I was pissed enough to call it a bad day.

Somehow, I got admitted and went to my class. My class teacher started bothering me with her pointless questions which I had to answer and I did not like my new classmates as well. (It takes time to develop liking towards new people). Such an imperfect ending!

Beginning of college life was the next milestone. I was waiting for the bus in the jolly and excited mood. Soon, the excitement was gone as it had been long that I was waiting for the bus.

Then the bus arrived and as soon as I stepped in, my phone started ringing (little filmy it is). It was my friend who was asking me if I’m having ‘this and that card’ which I was not having (Stupid me, I’m always short of necessary documents). On the next bus stop, I was on my way back to home by walk, all soaked in sweat.

I have skipped some incidents of such first days otherwise chances are high that even you’ll be scared of your ‘next’ First day at _____, just like me.

  1. I feel the same. First day at any place is memorable, let that be school, college, office or anywhere, we gradually lose our interest and then!
